Arts and Crafts meets on the first Thursday of the month sometimes at a member’s home or sometimes to get together for a field trip.
May craft, making personalized greeting cards.
March saw the group hard at work on ceramic trivets.
To start the new year off, Arts & Crafts took a watercolor lesson at the ASIF studio from one of the instructors (who is also a very fine artist). Here are a few shots of their impressive paintings.
In November the group worked on felted leaves. See the results–and the nice turnout of participants:
In October 2023, the group looked ahead toward the holiday season and constructed gift bags. As seen below.
The adjacent photo shows members of the group on a field trip May 4, 2023, to visit ReCreate, the recycle arts & crafts store, whose goal is to get art back into education and to provide a space for arts & crafts aficionadas to start and complete projects. They also accept donated art supplies, which can be used in schools or for projects in the store. The owner and founder addressed the Branch at the February general meeting.
The September meeting shows Arts and Crafts alive and well and having fun while they construct yard art.
The Arts and Crafts group made Easter cards on Thursday April 7th at 10 AM at the home of Jan Williams. Details are always emailed to all in the group. If you’d like more information, directions or have any questions, please contact Jan Williams.
A few of the group’s activities: sewing 10-minute table runners, creating decorations for Branch events, designing cards, and creating jewelry. They have also designed cement garden steppingstones and painted rocks in meditative designs. Involved members who have enjoyed learning many different skills.
Our numbers vary, but our enthusiasm and camaraderie are strong and steady. New members with an interest in creativity are welcome. The artistry and craft difficulty varies, but the activities are successfully completed by all, with the more talented members helping others.
We’re always ready to try something new!
